Our youngest son turns 31 today. I told him it was my Birth Day too. I was there giving birth on that day...so doesn't that qualify?
My Dad would say he was in his 32nd year already, but that truly makes me feel older and I feel old enough already.
We have watched him grow from a tow headed toddler into teen and then off to college. Now we are seven years after college graduation... and with the bumps and challenges along the way, he has emerged to be a fine man.
Each man in life has his own journey to make, his own tale to tell and his joys to share. The challenges in life make us stronger. We grow through learning sometimes painfully, trying to make things always be one direction, our direction. We find as we grow older we have to live and love and accept not only ourselves for who we are, but others as well.
Mother and Son |
When he married this summer we celebrated again joyful that he found a soul mate in his sweet wife that he knew from church as a young teen.
We discover with age that we have facets of our lives we keep hidden and protected. We realize we are vulnerable. And if we are really blessed, we are listening and we realize God has full control over everything.
Accept this moment in this day and celebrate life. God is good.
Happy Birthday Son.
MOM
words of my heart, Laurie
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Ephesians 6:12-13 NIV
